Afenifere, a pan-Yoruba group under the leadership of Ayo Adebanjo, has explained why the group is supporting Peter Obi of the Labour Party, rather than its own Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.

In a tweet, Ayo Adebanjo claimed that because Nigerians need leader that will not disappoint them, and Peter Obi is the only person up to the task.
According to him, Tinubu will only continue President Muhammadu Buhari’s incompetence.
He then advised the populace to do away with tribal sentiment and vote for the right person objectively irrespective of his tribe.
Taking to his Twitter page, he posted, "Ahmed Tinubu will only give continuity to Buhari’s incompetence. We know Peter Obi very well, that is why we endorse him. He will not disappoint Nigerians, let us put tribal difference apart and vote right leaders."
