Abuse: Baba Ijesha sentenced to 16 years imprisonment

Popular Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha has been sentenced to a 16-year imprisonment for sexual abuse of a minor.

The judgement came more than a year since the thespian was arrested following a CCTV footage which captured how he sexually harassed a 14-year old girl living with his colleague and friend, Princess.

Baba Ijesha allegedly took the victim from the sitting room to the kitchen, where there was no CCTV camera mounted, and the mother, who rushed back home after learning of the incident, allegedly caught Baba Ijesha defiling her daughter in the kitchen.

The sitting which took place on Thursday was presided by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo and lasted for over two hours before he was eventually convicted to a 16-year imprisonment for indecent treatment of a child.

Taiwo, however, discharged and acquitted him of count one and count six which are sexual assaults by penetration and attempted sexual harassment by penetration respectively.

The victim is said to be the foster daughter of Comedian Damilola Adekoya, known as Princess, and she is claimed to had been rendering financial help to Baba Ijesha due to his financial difficulties.
